Employee engagement is the foundation for a thriving business. We create employee engagement by offering an inclusive culture marked by diversity, collaboration and opportunities for personal growth. Our employees’ health and well-being are always top of mind and we have zero tolerance for workplace accidents.

Diversity and inclusion

We are committed to diversity. We are always looking to hire more women at all levels. Among the steps we take to make this happen is to have at least one candidate who is a woman in the final round of interviews for managerial positions.

To demonstrate our commitment to this issue, we have joined the UN’s Target Gender Equality Program. It is a program for participating companies of the UN Global Compact to set and reach ambitious targets for women’s presentation and leadership starting with the board and executive management levels.

Discrimination and harassment

At Munters no employee should experience harassment or discrimination. We follow up the results of our employee surveys with dialogue and training at a local level. Since we operate in environments where human trafficking can occur, we train employees to increase their risk awareness. 

Health and well-being

Munters offers a culture that has a good work-life balance and flexibility for where and when the work is done. We have an occupational health and safety program called STOP (Safety Training Observation Program). The program aims to create a safe and healthy work environment that minimizes the risk of hazards, injuries and negative environmental impacts.

Personal development 

We support individual career paths for all employees and encourage our employees to take on new challenges by, for example, participating in our mentoring program. This program promotes personal growth and cross-functional collaboration. 

In 2021, we launched a one-year leadership program called MovE (Munters’ orchestra of visionary Explorers) that focuses on major strategic projects, such as how to reduce carbon emissions in our factories.

Employee survey

Our employee survey is an important tool for measuring our strengths and weaknesses. In 2021, 24 out of 30 areas were above the external benchmark and the result showed an improved satisfaction when it comes to managers’ effectiveness and Munters’ safety efforts related to COVID-19. There was a slight decrease when it comes to employee engagement, but an increase in terms of inclusion and belonging as well as corporate responsibility and ethics. The Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) improved from 3.9 in 2020 to 10 in 2021.

Social engagement and global activities

In 2021, Munters helped in many places around the world to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Activities included donations of facemasks in Italy and financial assistance to India through the Red Cross and Pratham Sweden. We also arranged transportation for employees in Mexico to get their family members vaccinated.

Munters also participates in annual activities, such as Earth Day and World Food Day.

*In 2020, a comprehensive analysis of the reporting of various sustainability key ratios was carried out. This has led to the ratio for the proportion of female executives being revised down from the previously reported 25% to 21% in 2019.
