CEO Klas Forsström: Adaptability is our greatest strength

Mar 15, 2026

2025 was a year marked by turbulence but also by opportunity. Through adaptability, discipline and innovation, Munters strengthened its position in key industries and built a solid foundation for the future.

“The most important success factor in today’s business climate is the ability to adapt,” says President and CEO Klas Forsström. “Companies that stay close to their customers and respond quickly to changing conditions are the ones that succeed.”

Record year for Data Center Technologies

During 2025, Munters saw strong development in several key areas. Data Center Technologies (DCT) delivered a record year, supported by growth in the global data center market and increasing demand for energy-efficient and reliable cooling solutions.

To support this growth, Munters expanded its production footprint. A new DCT facility in Virginia continues to strengthen capacity in the US market, with further upgrades planned to increase scalability and flexibility. These investments position Munters to meet rising customer demand while maintaining high delivery precision and quality.

“I am very pleased with how our focused investments within DCT, combined with a gradually expanded offering, aligned well with the strong and structural growth in the global data center market,” says Forsström.

Transformation and operational discipline

Munters also continued the transformation of its FoodTech business area, with increased focus on digital and software-based solutions. The business is positioned in a market driven by long-term trends such as sustainable food production, energy efficiency, and stricter quality requirements.

“Feedback from our customers confirms that this is an area with clear long-term growth potential, where we have good opportunities to gradually strengthen our market position,” says Forsström.

At the same time, Munters adapted its operations to reflect changing market conditions, including structural measures within AirTech to strengthen competitiveness and ensure a solid cost base going forward.

Innovation driving long-term growth

Innovation remains central to Munters strategy. During the year, the company broadened its product portfolio, expanded its service offering, and continued to invest in research and development.

A clear indicator of this progress is the Vitality Index, which measures the share of revenue generated from products launched in the past five years. In 2025, the index exceeded 50 percent, compared with around 40 percent the previous year. This means that more than half of Munters’ revenue now comes from products and solutions developed within the past five years.

“It is about sustained and continuous innovation, close and solution-oriented collaboration with our customers, and an efficient and scalable industrial footprint,” says Forsström.

Sustainability integrated into strategy

Sustainability remains integrated into Munters overall business strategy. In 2025, the company’s climate targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and a green bond framework where money raised goes to support climate-related investments.

Munters continues to focus on energy efficiency, reduced emissions and a safe working environment across its global operations.

“Last year, we described Munters as a good company,” says Forsström. “Today, we can confidently say that Munters is a very strong company, with a clear strategy and a solid platform for continued development.”
