Double materiality assesment
At Munters, our double materiality analysis helps us focus on the sustainability topics that matter most – for our business and for people, society, and the environment. It provides a structured way to identify where we have the greatest impacts and where sustainability related risks and opportunities influence our long term performance, resilience, and growth.

Why it matters for our business
The results of the double materiality analysis guide how we manage and develop Munters:
-
Support our strategy and innovation, particularly energy‑efficient climate solutions
-
Strengthen risk management and business resilience
-
Help us deliver customer value, while reducing environmental and social impacts
-
Define priorities for governance, targets, and sustainability disclosures
This ensures sustainability is embedded in how we make decisions, allocate resources, and create long‑term value.

How we identify what is material
We assess sustainability topics across our operations and value chain from two complementary perspectives:
- Impact perspective (inside‑out) - How our activities, products, and business relationships affect the environment and people.
- Financial perspective (outside‑in) - How sustainability topics create risks or opportunities that may affect Munters financial performance, position, or future development.
A sustainability topic is considered material if it is significant from either perspective.

Material sustainability areas
Based on the assessment, Munters focuses on the following material areas, aligned with the ESRS topical standards:
- Climate change
- Circularity and resource use
- Own workforce
- Workers in the value chain
- Business conduct
These areas represent where sustainability is most closely linked to our business performance, risk profile, stakeholder expectations and responsibility as a global company.

Continuous review
Double materiality is not a one‑time exercise. We regularly review and update our assessment to reflect changes in our business, value chain, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory landscape.
This helps ensure our sustainability priorities remain relevant, focused, and aligned with our purpose: for customer success and a healthier planet.

Stakeholder engagement
Munters engages closely with key stakeholder groups to ensure responsible business practices and long‑term value creation. Our main stakeholders include customers, employees, suppliers and business partners.
We maintain an ongoing dialogue with customers through close collaboration, joint development projects, and regular feedback. Employees are engaged through regular employee surveys, leadership dialogues and training programs.
Engagement with suppliers and business partners is guided by our Supplier Code of Conduct and structured due‑diligence processes. We conduct assessments, follow‑ups, and dialogues to manage risks, promote responsible practices, and ensure alignment with Munters ethical, social, and environmental standards.
These engagement activities support informed decision‑making, risk management, and continuous improvement across our business and value chain.
