Munters to acquire Airprotech

Mrz 19, 2024 15:48

Munters has signed an agreement to acquire Airprotech srl, a prominent Italian manufacturer of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) abatement systems. This strategic move enhances Munters Clean Technology portfolio and supports cleaner production for European industries.

VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) abatement system is a solution that removes polluting organic compounds, which are emitted by industrial chemicals, solvents, alcohols and petroleum products, from the air stream and provides cleaner air.

“The acquisition is a crucial piece of the puzzle in expanding our Clean Technologies business and contributing to cleaner air. It broadens our offering in Europe and positions us to meet the growing demand for abatement services,” says Henrik Teiwik, President of AirTech and Group Vice President of Munters Group.

Munters actively supports the global transition to green technologies and the increasing demand for clean air solutions. The acquisition of Airprotech enables Munters to provide complete systems, enhancing process productivity and helping customers to reduce their carbon footprint.

"Airprotech's expertise in emissions abatement will greatly strengthen our Clean Technologies offering of complete systems. Together, we'll reinforce our platform and better serve our customers. I'm eager to welcome Airprotech to the Munters family,” says Jing Jin, Vice President of Clean Technologies AirTech at Munters.

Airprotech reported net sales of approximately MSEK 330 for the fiscal year concluding on December 31, 2023. Founded in 1995 by the Gatti family, Airprotech became a part of the German Deurotech Group in 2018 when 70% of the company’s shares were acquired. With its manufacturing facility located near Milan in Italy, Airprotech currently has 52 employees.

The completion of the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions applicable in Italy and is anticipated to be finalized in the second quarter of 2024.
