Distribution warehouse

Distribution warehouse

A distribution Warehouse can contain sensitive products sensitive and it is therefore important to keep an eye on the humidity levels to prevent the products from being affected before transported to the customer.

There is a direct link between high relative humidity (RH) and moisture damage to stored products.

By controlling the humidity so that it does not exceed the carefully calculated RH, you can protect the products from damage and problems that the humidity otherwise can cause. Soft cardboard can pose a risk of collapse, textiles can mold, electronic components oxidize and metals corrode.

Heating storage areas to keep dry is common, but often also costly. It is also not very efficient during a large part of the year, as it is required that the air is heated more than the ambient air temperature. For example, to get down to 50% RH and create the right climate, it is required that the temperature is heated to about 8 ºC higher than the outdoor temperature. It then becomes both costly and affects the climate in the warehouse for the employees. By instead dehumidifying the air, ie reducing the moisture content of the air by removing water from the air, two major advantages are achieved: humidity is controlled all year round and energy consumption is reduced.

Goods about to be distributed need a safe storage room that, regardless of the type of product, needs to maintain an even relative humidity so as not to destroy the products before they are shipped to the customer.

Advantages:

  • Preserve the goods that are stored
  • Constant climatic conditions all year round
  • Protection against mold, oxidation and corrosion
  • Creates a comfortable climate for those who work in the warehouse
  • Cost efficient
