Munters builds new factory to meet demand for EV batteries

Nov 9, 2021

The lithium battery market has grown significantly in recent years, largely driven by increased demand for electric vehicles.

To meet this growth, Munters plans a new manufacturing facility in Hodonin in the Czech Republic. The new factory will be located 10 km from the current location in Hrusky. The plan is to recruit additional personnel to support the expansion.

“The new factory in Hodonin allows us to open the doors to at least 100 new team members,” says Radoslav Hudák, Operations Manager at Munters in the Czech Republic. “Together with our competent employees in Hrusky, we will be in a good position to meet future demands.”

Lithium battery production requires a safe and stable environment to guarantee high-quality products. Munters - a leading supplier to the lithium battery industry - enables the perfect production environment, while keeping energy costs and emissions down.

At the new factory, the company will mainly produce its dehumidification system DSS Pro, which offers key energy-saving features and has been specifically designed for the battery, pharmaceutical and food industries.

“The facility in Hodonin will enable Munters to meet our customers demand for cutting-edge, energy efficient climate solutions,” says Marco Scomparin, Vice President Operations at Business Area AirTech. “We foresee that demand for lithium batteries will continue to grow as consumers and industries request more sustainable solutions.”

The new factory will be opened during the latter part of 2022.
