Unaro Nordic first to implement Munters AI Control

At Unaro Nordic, the Nordic region's largest developer and producer of beauty, personal care and chem-tech products, climate control is crucial. The company has become the first in the world to install Munters new AI Control, a solution that revolutionizes how industrial dehumidifiers are managed and optimized.
Moisture problems in storage halls
In the storage halls, where products are kept before distribution, moisture has long been an issue. Doors that frequently remain open allow humid air to enter, which can easily lead to mold and quality problems, making climate control essential.
“When I started here just over two years ago, it was obvious to contact Munters. I had good experience with their dehumidification solutions and service from before,” says Fredrik Mannerfjord, Facility Manager.
Dehumidifiers with smart AI systems
Munters installed dehumidifiers in the storage halls two years ago. Since then, they have been upgraded with two intelligent components:

AirC Connect monitors system status by collecting data from the control unit and sensors. Deviations from normal operation are sent as notifications to users and service technicians for quick troubleshooting.

AI Control, the new predictive control technology, anticipates how the dehumidifier and the specific room affect each other. It automatically adjusts operation to maintain the correct humidity while reducing energy consumption.
“It’s like having a little assistant working around the clock,” says Daniel Elfving, Head of Technical Operations. “Thanks to AI Control, we’ve managed to reduce the dehumidifier’s energy consumption by up to 30%, which is a significant saving both economically and environmentally for us.”
Unaro Nordic is the first customer to use AI Control in full-scale operation, and the energy savings align well with test lab results. The solution has proven so effective that Munters now sees great potential to roll out the technology widely to both new and existing customers across Europe.
