Global commitments

Sustainability ratings and scores are increasingly important to investors, customers and other stakeholders. The independent assessment of how we integrate sustainability into our business is paramount, and Munters continuously works to improve both transparency and our results.

SBTi: Aligning with the Paris Agreement

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organisation that helps companies set emissions‑reduction targets in line with the latest climate science.

Munters submitted its targets to the SBTi in 2024, and they were approved in 2025. The company has committed to reducing Scope 3, Category 11 emissions by 51.6% per unit sold and Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030.

UN Global Compact: Committing to responsible business practices

The UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative launched in 2000 to encourage companies to align their strategies with ten principles covering human rights, labour, environment, and anti‑corruption.

Munters committed to these principles in 2018, integrating them into the company’s Code of Conduct to guide its business practices.

Allbright: The importance of gender equality

The Allbright Foundation is an independent organisation established in 2012 to promote and track gender balance in executive management.

As part of the Allbright Alliance, Munters progress is monitored, and the company is currently listed on Allbright’s “Green Stock Exchange” following the achievement of gender parity in its management team.

CEO Commitment on energy efficiency

The Energy Efficiency Movement (EEM) is a non-profit industry coalition focused on accelerating the adoption of energy‑efficient technologies.

In 2025, Munters CEO Klas Forsström signed EEM’s CEO Commitment, a pledge by industry leaders to strengthen progress on energy efficiency and support decarbonization by 2030.

How we support the Sustainable Development Goals

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals are a call to action to ensure prosperity and at the same time protect the planet. Munters supports all 17 SDGs and has identified the following goals where we feel that we have a greater impact and thereby an opportunity to make a difference.

SDG 13: Climate action

We help our customers reduce energy use and carbon emissions through energy-efficient climate solutions that are critical for operations across industries. In parallel, we are committed to reducing our own climate impact in line with science-based targets, increasing energy efficiency, and expanding the use of renewable energy.

SDG 5: Gender equality

We believe that diverse and inclusive teams drive better innovation and stronger business performance. By promoting equal opportunities, fair compensation, and inclusive leadership, we aim to increase representation and create a workplace where everyone can contribute and grow.

SDG 10: Reduced inequalities

We promote fairness, equal opportunities, and responsible business practices across our global organization and value chain. Through clear policies, active diversity and inclusion work, and continuous follow-up, we aim to reduce inequalities both within our own operations and among our partners.

SDG 2: Zero hunger

We support efficient and sustainable food production by providing climate solutions that improve productivity, quality, and resource use across the food value chain – from farm to fork. Our technologies help reduce losses, optimize growing conditions, and ensure stable production in a resource-constrained world.

SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation

We enable more water-efficient operations across industries by designing climate solutions that use little or no water where installed. This is especially critical in sectors such as agriculture and data centers, where water scarcity is a growing challenge. At the same time, we support water treatment and infrastructure with reliable climate control solutions, while continuously improving water efficiency in our own operations.

SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth

We create safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplaces that enable our people to grow and contribute to long-term business success. By investing in health and safety, continuous development, and responsible business practices across our operations and value chain, we strengthen both employee well-being and sustainable growth.

SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production

We enable our customers to reduce resource use and environmental impact through energy-efficient and durable climate control solutions designed from a life cycle perspective. By optimizing performance, extending product lifetime through service and upgrades, and reducing waste in our own operations, we support more sustainable production and consumption.

SDG 9: Industry innovation and infrastructure

We drive industrial innovation by developing advanced climate control solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and sustainability across critical industries. Through continuous innovation, digitalization, and application expertise, we help our customers meet increasing demands for performance while reducing their environmental footprint.

SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions

We are committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency, and accountability across our entire value chain. Through our Code of Conduct, supplier requirements, and continuous training, we set clear expectations for ethical behavior, anti-corruption, and responsible business practices—strengthening trust with our employees, partners, and society.
