Direct evaporative cooling

Direct air cooling, often referred to as “free cooling”, is typically the most energy-efficient air cooling solution because outside air is used directly to cool the data center. To achieve the desired cooling levels, direct evaporative coolers are commonly used to pre-cool the air before it enters the building when it is warm outside. Indirect evaporative cooling

Indirect air cooling uses external air for cooling, but by including an air-to-air heat exchanger the outside air is kept in a separate loop, providing cooling without entering the server room. This means that indirect air cooling secures a stable indoor climate regardless of outside air quality or conditions. With an indirect evaporative cooling solution, water spray is added to enhance the indirect cooling effect and further reduce power use. Indirect dry cooling

The indirect dry cooling solution requires no water, so it fits areas with scarce water resources, although the cooling effect requires a higher energy consumption.  The indirect air cooling system operates in a way that ensures no external air enters the server room, keeping the data center free from rapid temperature or humidity fluctuations as well as potential contaminants. Split system cooling

Split systems can leverage the lower ambient temperature when available, reducing the amount of operational time for mechanical cooling, while providing expanded installation flexibility when compared with typical packaged solutions, especially for multi-story facilities. Learn more
