HR Specialist North Europe
In my position as HR Specialist North Europe I support the HR Director North Europe in all HR related tasks and activities in the region. I am also responsible for different HR projects and support different HR-related activities in Europe. Together with my two colleagues, who are based in other parts of the world, we are the interface between local HR representatives and the global HR processes. I really enjoy collaborating with the team and my positive working relationship with my manager. I also enjoy the constantly changing tasks and responsibilities in my projects.
I enjoy sports, and I played in a football club for many years. In my early teens, I considered a professional career in sports. However, after a serious knee injury, I had to make the tough decision that I was not going to be a professional football player. My second love is vintage cars from the sixties, but I don’t have one in my garage yet.
What's the most innovative Munters product or initiatives that you are most "proud" of?
From my HR point of view it’s is the newly created Career Page at Munters.com and the helpful use of different social media opportunities for the recruitment process. It’s great to show external and internal people what we‘re made of and what we can offer employees.
Tell me about a fun experience at Munters
I was very pleased when my boss asked me to join him for a quick spin in his vintage car. He is a fast driver, and I thought we were going to be driving around very quickly in a vintage sports car. So it was very funny when he arrived in his 24HP vintage car. We didn’t end up going very fast, but I really enjoyed the ride in the convertible.
What’s your favourite food?
I like to keep it simple, mostly because I lack the skills to have it any other way.
Describe a typical day at Munters
A typical day for me is one that’s totally atypical. I may answer a lot of emails, run between meetings and projects, review CVs, meet candidates and organize interviews and conferences, or brainstorm presentations and discuss things with my manager. There are always several long-term projects on the horizon, so it is important to manage these amongst all the ad-hoc tasks that come my way during the day.
Maybe you know the game “I pack my bag and take with me…” Give me 3 things you pack from your daily life which you need or characterize you and tell me why it is important for you.
Typically in my bag: sweets, a pillow, sport shoes, to-do-list, and a motoring magazine. I love staying active, traveling and trying new things. It’s not a good day without some sweets; Sleeping is the best time to relax and I can sleep anywhere with a good cushion; A to-do list because sometimes there are too many things to do and I am a little bit forgetful.
What was the biggest surprise when you started at Munters
I never expected that working at Munters would feel like a small and friendly company, but still a business that is global and in-demand.
What would your best career advice be for a new employee who is about to start a career with Munters?
Take the challenge, perform as best as possible, and be open-minded for new things. Enjoy to work together with your team and colleagues around the world and ask questions as much as possible. At Munters you will find a great family that takes care of each employee.
