Optimal Storage of Denmark's national history

The state archives that have been designed with a very high security level, are located in three different buildings. The halls of the two larger buildings were divided into four separate archives, all of which are equipped with 12.5 m high mobile shelving systems. In the lower buildings are highly confidential documents.

In the state archives 3.5 billion documents in 270,000 plastic containers are stored in racking systems, corresponding to a total length of about 370km. A modern bar code
System ensures that the required documents can be scanned without delays from the state archives.

To protect the irreplaceable documents, a very precise and reliable control of the indoor environment is required. The relative humidity of the entire space (70,000 m³) is controlled with Munters adsorption dehumidifiers. Thus the archives conform to the guidelines of the Kulturarvsstyrelsen (Danish Agency for Cultural Heritage) and also the new standard DS / ISO11799 about the requirements for the storage of archive and library.

Seven of Munters dehumidifier systems are connected to the ventilation system of the archives. They ensure that the relative humidity is between 30 and 50% RH all year round. (The maximum permissible variation per day is 3%). The system operates in the recirculation mode with a fresh air content of about 10% in order to maintain a slight overpressure inside the building. The temperature is kept at 14-18 ° C.

These archives are only one example in which Munters dehumidifier for an optimal climate, without compromise, has been used.
