Astrid Ortis

Astrid Ortis is one of our young and talented engineers who looks at how we can make our products more energy efficient. With a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in sustainable energy technology, this 24-year-old Austrian is the perfect candidate for the job.

You recently joined the company. What made you choose Munters as an employer?

I was attracted by Munters' diversity. On the one hand, it is a large industrial company with a market-leading position, and on the other hand, fundamental research is carried out within the company.

For example, I work together with colleagues globally to develop a long-term plan for how Munters will work with energy efficiency. The aim is to reduce the products’ environmental impact and at the same time ensure that they continue to be attractive to customers from a financial point of view.

What is it like to be a woman and at the same time one of the youngest in the R&D department?

I don’t feel like I’m in the minority here at Munters. I felt welcome and respected from day one. My colleagues immediately listened to my ideas and invited me into discussions. The good work environment is a contributing factor to why I want to stay.
