Could you learn a new industry and lead a new team, in a new job, in a new country, all while studying for your MBA? Yoonhee can. Introducing Munters’ newest (busiest) superstar.

What is your current role?

I am the Service Manager for Munters Korea. So, I manage service sales and service technicians. 

Can you describe your time at Munters? What has driven your forward progress?

I have spent the last 17 months building my team. Thanks to them, it did not take too long to get comfortable working here. My goal for next year is to create a solid foundation to build on, which is why I am still hiring new people.

What do you like most about working at Munters?

The working environment is relaxed and flexible, which makes it easy for team members to communicate effectively with each other. I am currently in charge of career development and training for Munters Korea, so I am responsible for selecting and organizing new training programs. I intend to schedule helpful programs on a regular basis.

What has been your biggest challenge, and how did you tackle it?

I came from the hospitality industry, where I worked for a decade. So, while I was very experienced in the customer-service aspect of this job, I did not have any experience with HVAC systems. When I first began working here, I had to learn absolutely everything about this new working environment, from A to Z.

Also, although I am Korean, I was used to working and living in Australia. I came back because of COVID. I only expected to be here for a short while, but my family persuaded me to stay. At first, I looked for a position within the hospitality industry, but I would have had to take a job with less responsibility than I was used to, and fewer challenges. So, I decided to apply to Munters, and I am happy with my choice.

What is the most fun aspect of working for Munters Korea?

I enjoy collaborating with my colleagues. The members of our service team are relatively young, so we find it easy to share our thoughts and motivate each other to perform our best. And even though many of our service technicians are young, most of them have either studied in the HVAC field, or have prior experience. So, we work really well together, and our competencies complement each other and make for a stronger team. 

Do you have any advice for anyone who might be considering joining Munters?

Munters’ approach to the HVAC industry is very future-focused and sustainability-driven.  I find that Munters’ vision and passion are promising and inspiring to both potential and current employees. There are so many opportunities for individuals to gain experience in this group. So, to anyone who might be considering joining Munters, I would just say: give it a try. Apply, and we will talk to you and we will figure out where your skill set fits in.

Is there anything you can share about yourself, as a person? 

I am incredibly open-minded and willing to learn new things. At the same time, I am happy to share my experience and thoughts with others. I respect and like my team and I am eager to do a great job. As a manager, I want to do right things at right times, making the best decisions for my team. That is why I have recently started studying in an MBA program to learn more and develop myself as a competent leader.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

Each one of us must decide for whom and how we want to work. Munters is a global company, where everyone can share values and cooperate to develop the business and themselves. I hope to help it stay that way.
