I currently hold the position as one of two Marketing Managers for Munters’ AirT division. I am primarily responsible for developing the marketing strategy and managing all related activities specific to the commercial segment. This will include, but is not limited to global brand maintenance and enhancement, collateral, events, research, client communications, public relations, and campaign development.
What's the most innovative Munters initiative or changes that you are most "proud" of?
Our innovation always impresses me. Currently I am most proud of the testing we’ve done to prove our moisture removal efficiency, since this is becoming a hot topic after a recent revision to the industry standard 90.1 set by ASHRAE. The standard calls for a minimum requirement of 4.3 ISMRE (intergrated seasonal moisture removal efficiency), and our DryCool technology currently achieves as high as 10.8 ISMRE – double what the standard requires. This definitely positions us as leaders within the market, as no other competitors are able to reach that number.
Maybe you know the game “I pack my bag and take with me…”; Give me 3 things you pack from your daily life which you need or characterize you and tell me why it is important for you.
The three things I pack daily are 1) reading material to continuously feed and inspire my mind, 2) faith to guide and push me to make decisions, have discipline, and to not stray from the overall vision, and 3) energy to make a difference, whether it’s in the company, for our customers and for our employees. With such limited resources, I have to pack these three things so that I don’t think about what we can handle, just simply think about what we can create, so we can WIN on the daily!
Tell me about a fun experience at Munters
The most memorable and fun experience I’ve ever had at Munters was during an outside team building event with my local colleagues. For the past two years, we’ve participated in the Corporate Cup city event that brings over 75 other corporations to participate in nearly 20 sporting events including 5K run, tug-of-war, and dodgeball. It has created a huge sense of team spirit amongst our office to come together as one team and outshine the competition!
What challenges are you facing in your day-to-day job?
To be honest, the workload is heavy and I face resource challenges. What I can appreciate from these challenges is the amount of trust management has in me for this role; that I will get things done and shine the best light on the company to keep in line with the vision and strategy we have set in place. This has pushed my creative boundaries and keeps me continuously developing myself in order to contribute and grow to be an integral part of the Munters business.
What would a perfect Sunday be like for you?
I prefer for my Sundays to be low-key and reserved for my family. I’d wake up, get a daily dose of faith and devotion. Then, enjoy a nice brunch or BBQ with friends and/or family. Relax for the entire day before starting the week. That would be my wish instead of the usual running errands and prepping for the week.
What would your best career advice be for a new employee who is about to start a career with Munters?
I would just like to share with new employees that Munters runs as a “LEAN” organization. This sharpens anyone’s leadership, communication skills, and creativity, and requires learning and acquiring new knowledge every day.
What’s the best part of your job or working day?
What I look forward to most in working for Munters are the people and the global aspect of our business. Munters feels like my other family. I love the friendships I’ve made with some incredible people. There have been people that genuinely care about me personally and my success at work. The second thing is being able to travel. It’s one of my favorite things to do in life and because of Munters, I’ve been to places like Iceland and Sao Paulo, seeing different parts of the world and experiencing different cultures. It’s very humbling.
