“Munters has given us the scale to compete in the data center market”

Jun 10, 2026

When Munters acquired Italian company Geoclima in 2024, it marked an important step toward building a truly end-to-end portfolio of cooling solutions for data centers.

“Through this acquisition, our range of comprehensive solutions becomes stronger and more complete,” said Stefan Aspman, President of the Data Center Technologies business area at Munters, at the time of the announcement.

In the months since the acquisition, order intake has confirmed the strategic fit. Since signing, Munters, now including Geoclima’s chiller technology, has secured contracts in access of USD700 million.

For Fabian Lant, who has worked as a Sales Manager at Geoclima for more than 20 years, the benefits of joining Munters are clear.

“Data centers have always been part of our portfolio, but we didn’t have the scale to compete with the major players,” he says. “As part of Munters, that has changed. We now have the reach and customer access to fully step into the market.”

A shared approach to cooling innovation

Founded in 1994, Geoclima has traditionally focused on two main areas: comfort cooling, serving environments such as office buildings and shopping malls, and process cooling, supporting industries like pharmaceuticals, plastics, and food and beverage.

While the strategic fit between the companies is evident, Lant highlights that cultural alignment has been just as important to a successful integration.

“We share the same DNA,” he says. “Like Munters, we work closely with our customers from the design phase all the way through to installation.”

He continues:

“When we combine our strengths, what sets us apart is our ability to develop highly energy-efficient solutions tailored specifically for data centers. Looking ahead, we’re not just entering the market. We’re building the next generation of solutions that will help our customers meet growing demands for performance, reliability, and efficiency.”

Augusto Brito, who recently relocated from the United States to Italy to support Geoclima as Operations Director, echoes Lant’s perspective on the integration.

“I've been impressed by the passion, expertise, and dedication of the Geoclima team,” he says. “It has reinforced my belief that successful acquisitions are built not only on complementary technologies, but also on shared values and culture. By combining Geoclima's engineering capabilities with Munters global presence, we are creating a stronger organization that is well positioned to support our customers and accelerate growth in key markets such as data centers."
