Prevent condensation during moulding and increase productivity

The dryers of granules are using Munters sorption dehumidifiers in the plastic moulding process. If we introduce dehumidified air inside the moulding machine we avoid condensation.

The control of all the phases of the injection plastic moulding process is essential and the wet air in the factories atmosphere is a constant enemy. If the temperatures in the moulding machine are between 7º and 10ºC, there will be condensation.

When wet air comes into contact with the cold moulding surface, so condensation will be formed. This condensation affects the quality and, therefore, the productivity of the company will also be affected.

It also produces increased time of the working cycles, reductions in the productivity, labour inefficency and high levels of scrap.
The problem is easily solved, thanks to Munters dry air systems. Dry air with a dew point (the temperature at which condensation forms) below the mould surface temperature is supplied into the moulding chamber to surround the mould. In this way, condensation is avoided.

Munters provide a wide range of dehumidifiers to suit all sizes of injection moulding machines. Injection moulding machines will be able to work without condensation at temperatures below 10ºC, including temperatures below zero if they are equipped with a Munters system solution.
