The overall responsibility of the Global Sourcing department at Munters is to provide value to our internal and external customers by implementing measurable Sourcing best-practices and ensuring total cost awareness throughout the organization.
Our role is to conduct commercial negotiations and to set up appropriate contracts, develop and implement category strategies for both direct and indirect materials. Category strategies require us to take a deep dive in every aspect of the supplier’s business area. It will enable us to become true experts, e.g. in the financial health of the supplier, their position within their own industry, knowledge about their SWOT situation, technology and product roadmaps, trends in the categories themselves. This gives us an excellent starting position in the commercial negotiations. We strive to conduct risk analysis for all components and categories and recommend mitigation strategies for those. We also conduct market analysis and keep track on market trends to be prepared for the future challenges.
Global Sourcing is today a team of approximately 10 people. Most of them located in Sweden, but we have presence in all regions and most of the sites. The strength of our team members is the overall high level of technical and commercial knowledge. What also characterizes us is the ambition and aspiration to be best in class and always to find a new better way.
