Tereza Svatková works with talent acquisitions at Munters. Together with her colleagues, she looks for talent who can support the company's sustainability journey.

What does sustainability mean to you?

I like the United Nation’s definition of sustainability, which is: Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

When it comes to how we use our resources, I believe we can all contribute to a more sustainable world. For example, we can turn off the lights when we leave a room, recycle our waste and reduce our plastic consumption.

We produce an enormous amount of waste due to our consumption. That is one of the reasons why I am proud to work for Munters because we strive to produce high quality products that have a long shelf life.

How do you or your team contribute to a more sustainable Munters?

I believe that if everyone contributes, we can make a huge impact. What is the sea except billions of small drops of water.

Personally, I try to minimize my paper use by using electronic sticky notes. I try to get my colleagues to do the same and support initiatives such as replacing plastic cups with regular cups and regular batteries with rechargeable ones.

At Talent Acquisition, we try to increase people's awareness of our brand to attract talent who can support our sustainability journey. Part of this branding exercise includes spreading awareness of our sustainability work, both internally and externally.

By setting up the right processes within Talent Acquisition, we can contribute to building diverse teams. How we do this is by focusing on gender-balanced recruitment and training managers so that they have the right mindset when recruiting. We are currently working on the new employee survey. The feedback on the survey will give us a better understanding of how we stand on these issues and help us to become an even better company.

How do you or your team contribute to a more sustainable world?

At home, I try not to waste food and instead use what is left over. I also try to avoid using plastic, buy locally produced products and recycle my waste. Nothing big, but if we all do our part, we will create a better world for future generations.
