Gas turbines use large volumes of air and are highly vulnerable to air contaminants. If unfiltered air enters a gas turbine it can cause erosion, corrosion and cooling passage plugging effects, which can be very expensive to repair.

Fitting filters to each turbine´s air intake protects them from airborne solid contaminants but doesn´t solve the free moisture problem, which will lead to the premature change of filter elements.

After an extensive study, Eurofilter (Air Filters) Ltd recommended Munters Euroform GmbH, which has more than 30 years’ of high-performance mist elimination experience.

Munters Euroform GmbH successfully installed high-efficiency mist eliminators in several gas turbine power stations that were experiencing mist and fog problems. Kvaerner Energy now always fits Munters equipment to the static air intake filters of its gas turbines, especially when they are in areas prone to mist or fog. The company no longer experiences carryover problems.
