One of Turkeys largest and most modern egg production plants is situated in Sandıklı, Afyon. The company carrying this description, Akıncı Tavukçuluk Ltd.could also be described as a gigantic plant since it comprehends nine buildings with a total surface of 11,000 m2 in addition to 56,000 m2 of farmland where the company grows its own feed. All in all, the plant houses 270.000 laying hens and 130.000 growing pullets.
In 2006, Akıncı Tavukçuluk managed to get the first governmental support in buying an egg processing machine and has since then acquired an air-conditioned truck fleet in order to improve their logistic network and ensure freshness of the product during transit.
This is clearly a company on the way forward, and is not averse to investments. The latest venture are two new layer houses adjacent to the existing production facilities. As production efficiency and air quality were a clear focus for the company, state of the art technology was specified for a fully automated climate control system. Munters delivered a complete climate control package fulfilling the ambitious requirements for the layer farm.
The results were not long in coming! During one year, the company can save 197,100 kg in feed consumption. But it does not stop there, the climate control system in the two new houses also increased the average egg weight with 2 grams. This may not sound too impressive, but in fact led to an increase in annual income of 110,000 EUR. To top it off, the electricity consumption decreased by 28%, which meant an annual power saving of 8,000 EUR.
