Munters application is very simple, protecting and preserving elements within the thermal plant or combined cycle equipment by providing dry air during repairs, maintenance and within other areas of the electricity manufacturing process.
Turbines and boilers are sensitive to corrosion and can be costly components to replace and costlier if unscheduled interruptions are involved. The turbines must be protected against moisture to avoid corrosion problems and thanks to the injection of dry air, they can be kept in perfect condition when not in operation. This also ensures the life of the turbine is extended.
The boiler generates the steam to power the turbine and it is very important to dry and preserve the boiler when on standby to avoid corrosion. Munters ML and MX desiccant dry air systems dry and remove condensation on boiler surfaces created during the stops during the boiler steam cycle and also preserves the boiler circuitry.
